Description

This 1872 map of Navarro County is actually a photographic reproduction of a map originally drawn by GLO Chief Draftsman Charles W. Pressler. It was created by the short-lived GLO Photographic Bureau, which was active from 1861-1874 and featured a state-of-the-art camera imported from Germany. This proved to be a more cost-effective way to provide copies than tracing by hand.
