Giraud, District Surveyor for the Bexar Land District, drew this sketch from the records of Bexar County and information collected from “old inhabitants.” The map shows the limits of the city of San Antonio, the relative position of the irrigable lands (labores) of Missions Concepción, San José, San Juan, and Espada, and the names of those who received the land as part of the missions' secularization. Also listed are original grantees who located their lands near the missions.
