Description

This 1956 map of Bailey County is another example of the work of General Land Office draftswoman Eltea Armstrong. Amrstrong is noted for her use of stippling, an artistic technique that uses dots, rather than lines, to make an image. On this map, the ducks flying across the top of the page surrounding the Muleshoe Wildlife Refuge are excellent examples of Armstrong's unique style.
