West Texas Landscape is a vibrant nature painting done by artist Elmer L. Boone. He was born in Joplin, Missouri and studied at the Smith School of Art and the Art Institute in Chicago. In 1927, he settled in El Paso, where he operated a commercial art studio and painted Mexican scenes and southwestern landscapes. Boone died two weeks after returning from a sketching trip in Oak Creek Canyon near Sedona, Arizona.
