Description

Texas Capitol is the original watercolor rendering of the building as designed by the Michigan architect. Myers completed this watercolor shortly after winning the nation-wide design competition. This drawing, displayed in a Capitol office, includes many of the Capitol's recognizable features such as the round dome and the Goddess of Liberty. The elaborate east portico was not built as shown because of the switch from limestone to Sunset Red Granite.
